Javonna Mack, MAOM
This wonderful journey in education has provided Mrs. Mack with many amazing opportunities and life lessons along the way. Mrs. Mack graduated with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts, Pre K-3 Teaching certification and Supervision of Student Teacher certification from Louisiana Tech University. She received a Master of Arts in Organization Management from Ashford University. She has been a mentor teacher and lead teacher, presented consecutively at the North Louisiana Math Association Conference, served on the Caddo Parish Math Task Force, and was chosen as a 2012 Teacher of The Year. Mrs. Mack has also been a Girl Scout Leader for the several years!
She loves teaching kindergarten because it is truly a life-long adventure. It is exciting, ever changing and never boring. Mrs. Mack believes that children remind us that we take life too seriously and need to laugh more, “life” teachers can come in little tiny packages, you can never ask too many questions, we should sing loudly, not be afraid to dance with our friend and being silly is ok. She enjoys reading, volunteering and participating in her local church. Mrs. Mack is married to an awesome man and together they are the parents of eight wonderful adults, one Rottweiler and two Chihuahua’s. She is “mawmaw” to six wonderful grandchildren. Mrs. Mack believes that who they are today comes from the strong foundation of learning, acceptance and responsibility that they received while attending Caddo Parish Schools.

She currently pursuing a Masters of Arts in Teaching with a Certification in PreK-15. Ms. Simon strongly believes that all children are willing to learn as long as we are willing to teach. She is also a strong believer in parental involvement. Parental involvement is an influential factor in student achievement and motivation. Ms. Simon is the mother of one daughter, Chakirian (6), which inspired her to go on to become a teacher. She loves to do what her daughter calls play learning. Learning should be fun and exciting. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and teaching others to be tech savvy. She is looking forward to working with her new Mustang family to better the education and lives of our students.
